Phase 1 Orthodontic Treatment

The American Association of Orthodontics recommends, and we at Red Dirt Orthodontics agree, that children should be seen by an orthodontist at the age of 7. Why? Phase I treatment is to help the jaw develop in a way that will accommodate all of the permanent teeth and improve the way the upper and lower jaws fit together. With young patients there is a possibility that Dr. Erickson could detect issues with tooth and jaw development that could get worse if left untreated!

Phase 2 Orthodontic Treatment

Dr. Erickson proposes that approaching treatment at an early age and in multiple phases, we can typically avoid surgery while making treatment more effective and gentle. Phase II usually involves full upper and lower braces. In Phase II Dr. Erickson aims to maximize the opportunity to accomplish the ideal healthy, functional and aesthetic result that will leave you loving your teeth for the rest of your life!
